How does
SIDELINESTM
Work?
The basics:
- When the user launches Outlook1 it indicates that Sidelines is installed and available.
- On the new message page, user enters names of intended recipients in an email address and
begins composing the “main” or “group” message
- At any point during composition of the group message, user can click on the Sidelines tab
- Sidelines launches and prompts user to indicate which recipients (up to 4)2 are to receive private messages
- Tabbed pages enable user to compose separate private messages to any or all of the selected recipients
- User can modify group text and/or any of the private messages
- User can send any or all of the messages – to the group and/or to any and all the private recipients – in any order
- Recipients typically receive the private message first, which indicates that a group message is on the way
- Sidelines is currently available only as an add-on to Microsoft Outlook. Future versions are anticipated for other e-mail applications, e.g, Entourage, Eudora, etc.
- Currently limited to 4 Sideline messages. Future versions to be expanded
